Bio
Damascus Lee Ellison was born in Louisville, Kentucky September 18, 1982. His family descended from gifted musicians and writers, strongly influencing his life at a young age. Growing up, Lee's life consisted of family, school, baseball, football, basketball, track, and ministry. In 1994, Lee's father purchased him his first electric guitar. Music became the primary inspiration of his life, as he used his gifts and talents with his whole heart to bring glory and honor to God. Rap, Rock, punk, and Heavy Metal, were the primary genres that he followed until 2003. Lee was radically saved after a bad experience getting high. He went 3 days with no sleep, fearful that he would live the rest of his life with an abstract mind. He cried out to Jesus in his apartment December 18th, 2002. He begged God, that if the Lord would bring back his sound consciousness, that he would never smoke weed again. His sobriety was restored, and Lee surrendered his life to Jesus. He began Fingerpicking on the acoustic steel string guitar, and worship music became his primary focus in this season of life. In 2013, Damascus began writing Country music, experiencing inner freedom through hard work and service to his family. Through these years he finished writing 5 books on Biblical theology as a student of the Holy scriptures for 20 years. Today, Lee is a single father of 7 children." God's grace is the only reason that I am alive and well,” says singer/songwriter Damascus, who rejoices in hope daily of the coming Kingdom of God. He writes songs of love, family, truth, grace, freedom, and worship. God didn’t only give us Himself to enjoy, but one another, and this should always be the theme of music.
